Business management consulting for home-service companies

Knoxville-based consulting and owner coaching for service companies across the Southeast. We help you trust your numbers, get out of the back office, and plan for what's coming, good or bad.

Most home-service owners didn't start a company to do paperwork. They started because they're good at the work. Then the business grew, and the owner became the bottleneck: answering every question, checking every number, and running the back office at night.

Knoxline works on both sides of that problem. On the business side, we look at how your company actually runs and build a plan to fix it, from your numbers to your processes to your software. On the owner side, we coach the habits that make the plan stick: how you plan your week, what you track, and how you prepare for the months you can't see coming.

What's included
  • Operations & back-office assessment
  • KPI and financial review: the numbers that matter
  • Process mapping & role clarity
  • Systems & technology roadmap
  • Owner coaching & accountability check-ins

The gap

Where growing service companies get stuck

  • The owner is stuck in the back office. Estimates, payroll, scheduling and follow-ups all run through one person, so the business can only grow as fast as that person can work.
  • The numbers can't be trusted. Revenue, job costs and close rates live in different places, and nobody is sure which version is right.
  • Growth has stalled. More leads don't turn into more profit, and it isn't clear why.
  • Every surprise is an emergency. A slow month, a big equipment repair or a tax bill hits with no plan behind it.

None of these are effort problems. They're system problems, and systems can be fixed.

The business

What we work on in your company

  • Operations assessment

We map how work actually moves through your company, from first call to final payment, and find where time and money leak out.

  • Numbers you can trust

We pick the handful of KPIs that matter for your business and get them into one place you can check in minutes.

  • Process & roles

Clear steps and clear owners, so the team stops routing every question through you.

  • Systems roadmap

A plain-English plan for your CRM, reporting and automation: what to fix first, what to leave alone, and what it's worth.

The owner

Owner coaching & accountability

The best systems still depend on the person running them. This is the part most consultants skip: the habits, planning and mindset that make an owner steady when the business isn't.

  • Own your mornings

We'll challenge you to start earlier and protect the first hour for thinking and planning, before the phone takes over the day.

  • Plan the week before it starts

A simple weekly planning routine: the jobs, the money, the people, and the one or two things that will actually move the business forward.

  • Reminders, not willpower

Calendars, reminders and follow-up systems that remember for you, so nothing depends on keeping it all in your head.

  • See it coming

Before big decisions, we walk through the best case and the worst case, so you're prepared either way instead of caught off guard.

  • Plan for what you can't see

Cash reserves, slow seasons, equipment breakdowns and tax time, planned for in advance so a rough month doesn't turn into a crisis.

  • Someone in your corner

Regular check-ins to keep you accountable, talk through what's working, and keep the plan moving when things get busy.

The process

How a consulting engagement works

  1. 30-minute call

We talk through where the business is, where you want it to go, and what's in the way.

  2. Assessment

We look at your numbers, your tools and how work moves through the company, and talk with you about how your weeks actually go.

  3. The plan

You get a clear, prioritized plan in plain English: what to change, in what order, and why.

  4. Follow-through

Run it yourself, have us build the systems, or keep us on for regular coaching and check-ins.

Common questions

Business consulting FAQ

How is this different from a business coach?

Most business coaches stop at advice. We pair the coaching with the systems behind it: dashboards so you trust your numbers, automations that take work off your plate, and reminders that keep the plan moving. You get someone in your corner and the tools to follow through.

Do you only work with home-service companies?

Home-service companies are our focus, including roofing, septic, appliance repair and other trades, because that's the world Westyn grew up in. If you run a different kind of small business and the problems sound familiar, reach out anyway.

Is this a one-time project or ongoing?

Either. Some owners want a one-time assessment and a written plan. Others want regular check-ins to stay accountable and keep improving. We'll recommend what fits on the first call.

Do I have to buy new software?

No. We start with the tools you already use, like your CRM, Google Workspace and your calendar, and only recommend something new when it clearly pays for itself.

What does it cost?

An assessment is quoted as a fixed project. Ongoing coaching and advisory runs on a monthly retainer. You'll know the price before any work starts.
